Willow Creek Salmon and Watershed Education Center
In honor of the devoted members of the Laebugten Salmon Club who founded, built, and maintained the facilities and programs at Willow Creek Salmon and Watershed Education Center (WCSWEC) from 1980-2017, the Sound Salmon Solutions Board established the Laebugten Fund. This is a restricted account to receive donations exclusively for the support of the WCSWEC facilities, operations, and programs. 100% of donations to this fund will be used to support WCSWEC.
As we move into our 35th year of operation, we are asking for your support as we continue to grow our programs and expand our impact at the Willow Creek Salmon & Watershed Education Center. Your contributions will support raising and releasing up to 80,000 coho annually, offering low-cost field trips to schools and youth groups, and supporting a scholarship fund for our Salish Scientists Summer Camp.
The WCSWEC provides community members of all ages with an unparalleled opportunity to forge personal connections to salmon and our watershed. Throughout the year, the WCSWEC offers a variety of programs that provide hands-on environmental education and connect our community with the tangible actions we can all take to improve watershed health and aid in salmon recovery.
“The Willow Creek Salmon and Watershed Education Center has had a big impact on our family by instilling a deep appreciation for the environmental significance of the salmon life cycle. Through their summer camps and salmon restoration programs we have learned so much about how healthy salmon populations support the health of our whole region. “ - Brouwer Family
Thank you, again, for your support for our work in saving our salmon.
If you’d prefer to mail in a check make it out to SOUND SALMON SOLUTIONS and be sure to put “Laebugten or WCSWEC” in the memo line. Our mailing address is 712 3rd St., Suite B, Mukilteo, WA 98275.
During the 2024 coho rearing season, 80,000 coho salmon were released into 8 different local streams that feed the Lake Washington watershed and Puget Sound waterways.
